Got what I was told a dying 10bolt in my 96 trans am, grinding noise from the rear which I thought was a bearing has now started to make my transmisson slip 2nd to 3rd gear and 4th gear needs lots of power just to go anywhere, transmission guy checked it out and said my crown and pinon gears are worn likely and my rear needs to be replaced, found a cheap 3rd rear but was wondering if this will fit into my 4th gen fbody without any serious mods and stock rims? Heard the 3rd gen one is not as wide so maybe need spacers?

I would search around for a cheap 4th gen rear instead, or spend the dough on aftermarket
