Default another gear thread...need advise 4.30 or 4.56...H/C/I

Im torn between which gears to get either the 4.30s or the 4.56s

I recently went to the track and my setup right now is 12 bolt w/ 4.10s and 28" DR

spinning 1.67s and going 10.9s @ 128.8 going through the traps at 6300

my car peaks at 6k and holds power to 6800 when we stopped the dyno pull
on the mustang dyno it did 465/415

race weight is 3190 w/ me in the car

hooking and in good weather i feel the car will be trapping in the 131 range

thanks
brandon

There's a good gear calculator at http://f-body.org/gears/ it's great for comparing multiple gearing setups.

I put your numbers in the calc and came up with:
128 @ 7k with 4.56, 28" tire
136 @ 7k with 4.30
I'm sure with tire growth those numbers will go up slightly. What's your redline and future HP goals?

yea i know the site been looking at it for yrs now

the DR doesnt grow like a bias ply

well the car peaks at 6k and holds the power till 6800 when we stopped the pull

im good on power until i build a stroker at that point in time ill change gears again if need be
