It's nice to see good looking welds, some of the pics I see of people using the hiltsy mount are scary! Cant believe they feel comfortable trusting their lives to them....

Well The Explorer 8.8 Is 31 spline posi-traction & They are a bit beefier than the ranger/mustang 8.8's.. Also come with big bearing.. Im thinking at least 500hp/500ft lbs There strong rears definitely.. & its quite possible I just Picked another 8.8 with 4:10 posi 31 spline.. I may build a couple depending on smoothly everything comes together.. Keep in touch Though!!

I'm getting ready to embark on this journey myself, I'm just trying to figure out a few more details. Did the 3" OD DOM tube fit in the 8.8 straight up or did they take any work? How did you figure out what ID to get the machine shop turn the sleeves to?

Yes It did Require The Tubing to be turned.. I just got mine in yesterday so ill measure what they came out to be exactly.. Any automotive machine shop should be able to get it done for under 100.. but i bout the stock myself otherwise i would have been charged extra for materials. Ill get back with measurements.. If you do Take your 10 bolt axle tubes & 8.8 center section & the stock ( at least 8in ) & they'll kno what to do.. They'll just mesure the ID of the 8.8 & OD Of the 10 bolt tubes.. The sleeves just fill the gap.
