MWC is not what i thought..
Lets get something clear, I have been very patient with MWC and i hate writing these types of threads. I received my parts in April 2012 and I have had a noise issue since pulling out of the shop. I got in contact with them immediately and was told to try a few things, waited for break in period changed fluid, etc. Was in contact with them multiple times was told to try the shim on the pinion. Did not have time so parked the car till I could . never had time so I brought it a shop to do it. 90$ in labour and 35 in fluids every time. They tried it twice and noise was still there. I’ve got about a 1000km on it now and they said at this point it needs a new gear set. Says “I can give you a smoking deal on a new set , you have to ship it to me and the new set will cost 250 plus labour and shipping back”. Does not sounds like a smoking deal to me so I got fed up and took it to a local certified 9” specialist. The problem is not a noisy gear set, I need bearing in the centre section, every time I call them Eric seems to be too busy to talk to me, yet he is answering questions on the forums constantly and I’m pretty sure if it was a sale he would make time for sure. All they tell me is he will call you by the end of the day, well after 5 or so times, don’t worry I get the point Eric. When I bought the rear I took everything he recommended even if it was over my budget because I did not want any issues. They advertise limited lifetime warranty but when I ask them the what is limited Shane on the phone could not give me a straight answer. So not only is he not helping me at all he is laughing at me by telling me he is giving me a smoking deal on a new gear set, and I asked what happens if the problem is not from the gear set or if I get it back and its making noise. I don’t have the confidence that it will be good nor do I want this to drag on for another year. I called strange and they said they cant warranty anything since it was built by MWC. That’s great warrantied only by someone who cant even get back to me. Labour in this city isn’t cheap and I sick of trying things that “might” work. This is not a little gear noise im talking I hear it over my exhaust and music loud. I don’t have anywhere to leave the car with the rear out and wait 3-4weeks shipping it to them and waiting for the return, I offered to pay for a new centre section and when I receive the new one ill ship the old one back for a refund, guess what? Never got an answer either. My next question was going to be can you at least send me the parts and ill send the old ones back but im sure they wont answer me anyway. I have accepted the fact that they don’t give a sh*t and they are not what they say they are and hopefully someone will think twice before they purchase with them.

I just like everyone else had issues with getting my bumper supports in the time they said. Eric would tell me one time, the time would come, and no parts. This happened 3 times. Took me a long time to get them but it was worth it.
I understand Eric has limited help in the shop and believe hes doing the best he can with getting stuff done. But I def understand the frustration of waiting and being told a different deadline every couple wks/months because I did get frusterated too.

I got the run around for about two months or so (can't remember exactly) till i got a tracking number and soon after got my k-member. I had a buddy with the same issue, he waited like almost 4-6 months till he received his 9". Not the best customer service, which sucks because ive wanted to buy there front bumper support to save me the trouble of hacking mine up but id rather save my time and money and just hack up my OEM one then deal with that customer service again.

I missed two events due to their shipping dates.. ordered in november and got everything in may when it should have been "2 weeks". then I had issues with the driver side axle shaft being too short. That took another couple of weeks and here we are. 300 miles on the rear so far. I think they just need better timing with their stuff and teach shane a little more about rear ends. I also paid to have mine assembled because I had a broken hand at the time. I had to end up taking it all apart anyways but live and learn I guess. It seems to be a good rear end but time will tell. They just need to be more on time with the way they schedule things

No problem.
See, how's that for customer service? It's 3 pm on a Saturday and they're still on here helping out people with sales and info.
No, i'm not getting paid to say this. I've just had good experiences with them and go to them for chassis parts.

I do know that we have had an issue here over the last few months with customer service and a office guy that was supposed to be knowledgeable about cars and performance but turns out to be nothing more than an enthusiast. I do apologize to the MWC customers about this situation and it is being addressed now.
Truth about it is I have been trying like hell to be in the shop working on cars and parts so we can continue to supply the F-body community with the absolute best parts and best prices available. In order for this to work I have to have a person that can handle the duties of answering the phone and emails as well as some tech help. Along with moving the business into the much larger facility the last few months have been rough for us and I myself simply do not have an ounce of more time left in my days to do any more. I will now be taking all the calls and doing what I can to keep working in the shop as well.
I have the entire conversations with the OP saved in emails, which is a good way to communicate with me at least on a once daily basis. The rearend was installed in his car over a year ago now. After a month goes by he had a few concerns and one was noise, possibly from the gear. MWC has the warranty policy clearly stated on the website, as well a a printed version included with the rearends. The policy was again forwarded to Tony in an email. He was instructed what to do and supplied with part numbers for readily available shims and other small parts if needed.

I have not had the chance to have the rear looked at yet since i would not attempt the shim process , but i was gonna take it in next week, i just want to make sure that by doing this it does not void any warranty on the centre section(life ttime warranty). thanks"

it is manufacturer warranty only on the gear set and is completely up to them. Warranty term is one year from date of purchase from Yukon. You will need to at least attempt the shim change before we go anywhere else, and yes... do it yourself. The job can be done with a 9/16 and 3/4 wrench and a drain pan. No gaskets, sealer, bearings, setup tools or anything technical needed.
OP:
local Found On Road Dead Dealership will have some of these sets or should i order them from somewhere? what is the "kit" called. i wont be able to do this myself since im leaving overseas for 4 weeks. i will be back in early septembre and give it a try so if i have to order something that is fine as long as i know what to order.
MWC:
something like this is all you need
http://www.ringpinion.com/b2c/Produc..._Gear_and_Axle
or few extra parts with this kit
http://www.jegs.com/i/Moroso/710/847...oductId=744463
This was the last email exchange with the OP, until April '13... 9 MONTHS later.
I am not sure of the recent phone convos but I did get the OP to send pics of the gearset with the pinion support assy removed and the pics clearly indicate the gear was setup properly. The policy always has been for the original purchaser to either send us the complete center section for inspection and repairs, or purchase and install whatever needed parts until we can help out with the "manufacturer only" parts warranty process. Once the issue with the manufacturer is resolved then we can credit the purchaser for the faulty parts if so deemed by the manufacturer. I also clearly stated to the OP that the S-Trac diff unit was the ONLY limited lifetime warrantied part in the entire assy. Strange informed him of this as well when he called them.
When 9 months to a year goes by with whatever reasons a purchaser has for not getting the work done or parts sent back to us really puts both of us in a bind with getting anything covered. There is more to this but I need to put at least this out there so there is a better understanding for all reading. OP acts like we don't care, but that is nothing farther from the truth. I have always stood behind my products, but when it comes down to things like this people need to be compliant with warranty terms and understand the situation for all involved. Something like sending out an brand new center section for an exchange valued at just under 2K is not an option and no other manufacturer will do it either.

I'll give props to MWC though. They do have nice products. My roommate has their fab 9 and bumper brace. So does a couple other friends of mine. Just took them forever and pulling teeth to get responses of when it's supposed to be shipped. Good products for the most part but customer service is something to be worked on. Same story I got from all my friends that ordered from them so it's not like I'm pulling this out of my ***. My experiences have been with Burkhart Chassis. I've always had good service with quality products.

I think its time they upgrade to machines that do some of the work for them. Im glad they have a bigger shop and hopefully they push out work faster because the fbody world needs good rear ends that don't leak from the axle shafts (Moser). I just wish those guys were closer to me so I could get the things I needed lol

There is no debate about what MWC products look like, they are top notch. When they work like they should I’m sure they work fine. However, how about the emails that I never received an answer for do you still have them? Or the times when Shane said you will call me by end of day, did he ever tell you to call or you just did not care to call back? I don’t know how many people actually have the luxury to put the car somewhere while the center section is out for repair for a few weeks. You had the chance to look at the pictures I sent you but this is the first time I hear your thoughts. Maybe if you would call back or send me an email we could have discussed it further.

Hello,
I just spoke with someone with you guys over the phone. My name is Tony Chamoun. I have been having this issue since the beginning. I was in contact with you guys about the noise and i finally had the chance to take it out and look at it, took some pictures and a video of the noise. When looking at the video keep in mind speedo is in km not mph. Also I have only put about 1000 km on this rear since i put it in. I know its been almost a year but i do not drive it much especially because of the noise. No track use no abuse. I knew something was not right from the start so no abuse at all and the only reason i drove those 1000km was to complete break in assuming it would go away. followed proper break in procedure.
Thanks again for your help.

Hello,
I was wondering if you had a chance to look at this yet.
thanks
That is when I gave up on emails and started calling. Im glad to see you had the time to find all the emails that benefit you in this conversation, it is a good thing I don’t hold my breath for you to take the time to email me or call me. If I was one of those customers that calls and yells and disrespect you I would understand being ignored. I never did anything to deserve this treatment and as you can see the car is parked and I have been very patient. Every time it’s a different excuse and I gave you the benefit of the doubt. But now I have moved on and figured I would share my review.
