New gears and taller tires?

The taller tires will put more rubber on the (o/O) ground, and the taller sidewall generally allows the tire to give a little more which helps to prevent shocking the surface of the tire. Bob

I bet more than one person missed the fact that Bob provided an illustration ( which I quoted) to back up what he is saying about more surface contact with the taller tire , people are quick to go wider to get more contact but taller can do the same , longer contact patch vs wider contact patch , of course both is even better if you have a pesky traction issue lol

Thanks guys. I managed to fit these 15 x12 prostars with the 28" tall 325 with a lot of BFH and some relefe cuts. Good to know the gearing will be around the same. I don't need all this wheel/tire but it's what got a deal on so we will see how good they hook.
I used to run a 275 28" tire and it hooked way better than a 315 26", it was on a 15" wheel though.
