Craig sells the u-joint with the rear. You'll just need to have it pressed in, and you're ready to ride....

Cool that's sick. I don't have to worry about anything. Just bolt the puppy in. He is sending it to me with the backing plates too.

I think i am going with this rear also. I have not heard anything bad about it. Do you have to send your stock unit in or do they use their own housing's?

My car has an Eibach prokit on it, no problems.

I would recommend an adjustible panhard rod to anyone running the 8.8. It will need some centering when you get it on, which can't be done with a solid non-adj panhard

No, they use their own housing so, you keep your own stuff. The only things are the backing plates which he is putting on for me for 80 bucks which I would get back if I sent him my cores. I think the rear is the best choice. It's lighter then both the 12 bolt and the 9in. And it's only 15 pounds or so heavier then the stock 10 bolt (read theat earlier somewhere don't know if completly acurate). I also would go on a limb and say that it's stronger then the 12 bolt. Mine is coming with 31 spline axles, Eaton HD posi, 4:10s, 1330 yoke, conversion u-joint, set up for 4 channel ABS, bolt in axles, T/A girlde, Stud Kit, and weld on lower control arm relocation brackets (100 extra) and cotst me was 2155. And there is absolutly nothing to fab. It bolts right in, using all the stock suspension components, and I guess now even the stock length drive shaft. By the way it's only 1880 for the basic setup without the girdle and stud kit and even less if you don't want bolt in axles. You really cant beat the price.

The 8.8 was my first choice. Craig's one cool dude, but I needed one right away and I knew he was backed up badly. Has that improved?

Also with all the bells and whistles, the price between the 8.8 and a 12 bolt is minimal.

I paid $2224.oo for my Strange 12 bolt.

I'd much rather get a Strange 12 bolt it's the best quality out there.

TByrne Motorsports. He ran a GP (at my request!) in Dec. 2003. Most people shy away from Strange because they won't send you the unit before mounting the brake backing plates on it. This results in down time since most people take the plates off the current axle, mail it, and wait for the new unit to arrive. But Tom Byrne allows an exchange/core charge, whereby Strange puts brand new plates on, you mail your old ones to TByrne, and he refunds you like 80% of the new plate price.

The rear is top quality in every aspect. It's fit and finish is perfect. I like the fact that they dyno test the unit before selling it. They even thought of stupid little things like putting grease fittings at the axles.

P.S. The shipping was added to the $2224.00 from my recollection. (Around $125 to FL.)

BTW, You can build your own 8.8, switch to Pete Z bars and get away from the whole Tq arm and still only be in the whole package for like $1800. Food for thought
