Make up my mind! 12 bolt or 9"
Here is my expectations for the car. I want to run mid to low 11's all motor. I plan on having a cam, 3800 to 4000 stall on ET streets and have the suspension done (Spohn stuff and Hals). I plan on keeping this a street/strip car, but not a daily driver (something I can still take the kids in). I've used the search button, but still can't make up my mind. A local shop told me to get a Moser 12 bolt with 33 spline axles and Eaton posi unit and 3.90 gears. Will this hold up and be my best option? Or should I go with the 9". How about a spool? What are your opinions? Thanks in advance.

being a cam only automatic i think you'd be ok with the 12 bolt with posi.
the posi is the weak point in a 12 bolt, if you were a higher hp 6 speed car i'd say 9"..thus why I have a 9" with a spool in my car.
i'd go 12 bolt with your setup and enjoy losing less hp to the wheels compared to a 9".
if you are gonna get crazy with the car in the future you might want to consider the 9" now then.

I wouldnt drive a spool everyday, limited weekend car is fine IMO but everyone has their own threshhold for stuff like that..
I would just run the posi/33 spline axles and if you start getting over 500rwhp then worry about the spool. You can swap one in anytime and they are cheap..

A 9" is easy to change out, you could keep your 4.10 gears and a spool handy and 3.42 with a posi for driving...
[EDIT: THE THIRD MEMEBER IS EASY TO CHANGE OUT, NOT THE ENTIRE REAREND ]
