I posted this in the New Orleans section, but it seems there's not much traffic there. Should have posted here to begin with. Anyway...


Anyone in the nola/baton rouge area that could help me with installing and setting up my 3.90s? I have the gears, install kit, solid pinion spacer, and TA girdle. I'm pretty sure I could handle the work myself, but I really would like some assistance and guidance for my first time doing this. I also don't have all the tools that are needed, like a hydraulic press and a pinion depth gauge (how necessary is that?) I'd hate to just wing it and ruin my new gears, but I'd rather not just have a shop do it, because I've done all the work on the car myself so far and I'd like to learn how to do this. I also have a bad pinion seal leak and would like to just take care of all of it at once. Willing to pay in cash, beer, food, or any combination of the 3.

Read a bunch of how tos online and get the tools you need. Best recommendation I can give you.

I've been reading and watching some YouTube videos, and it really doesn't look that bad. I also found out that a friend of mine is going to be rebuilding the axles on his F250 soon, so I'll help him out/ learn there.
