01 firebird, V6 M5.

Will this differential work in my car?

It's an Eaton posi variety,no 4th gens from off the assembly line used that,they were Auburn to 1998 and Torsen starting in 1999. If you have 3.23s,3.42s,3.73s',Yes
If you have 3.08 gears in your V6,NO.

I think mine is 3.23, but I have to check.

3.8 v6's where typically 3.08's unless you got the Y87 W68 packages that included the 3.42 rear.

check your door RPO list

GU4 is the 3.08
GU5 is the 3.23
GU6 is the 3.42

and
G80 is the limited slip dif. which I want to say was only seen on the 3.42's from the factory but I'm not certain on that one.

I have an '02 firebird. With RPO codes of: Y87, W68, GU6 and G80 - i confirm the 3.42's in the limited slip.
