Is this a pretty good gear/stall combo?
Recently did away with the 2.73's and opted for some 3.42's. Huge difference on on the street. I have one of the new Yank 3400 converters hopefully going to get it put in this weekend. So what do you guys think of this gear/stall combo?. Car is a 98 T/A. Bone stock for now except for the gears and an SLP lid and filter. Just wondering what kind of 60 foot times and 1/4 mile times I should be able to cut with this combo. Currently running 17 inch Torq thrust wheels with Toyo drag radials. I'll eventually add a drag pack with 15's and more mods. What kind of times can I expect with what I currently have before adding the Yank?

[QUOTE=HCI2000SS;18991345]Without the stall I'd say maybe a 13 flat[/QUOT
Forgot to mention it's ran an 8.77 at my local 1/8 mile track before I bought it with only the lid and drag radials and 2.73's in about 65 degree weather. Not bad for 191k miles imo. Its kind of a slow track though. Cars usually run 2-3 tenths faster at the other track that I go to. Whats an 8.77 come to in the 1/4? I'm thinking about a 13.4?

Guess I'm gonna have to get on the ball then and get my converter, TSP longtubes, drag pack, and a tune on there. Then try to find an LS6 intake and ported TB. Maybe that'll yield some healthy mid 12 second passes? If not I'm gonna be disgusted with it.

This.
With a lid and FTRA on street tires, 3.23s and stock tune I ran 13.4/5 in the summer and 13.2/3 in the better fall weather.
I always 60'd better on street tires than DRs for some reason
With 1 3/4, Hooker ORY, Aerochamber, SLP and FTRA no tune I ran 12.87@107.7 almost full weight. Race weight was about 3650. I think with a tune I could've cracked 12.5/6
Good luck.

with your mods from your first post ( lid , 3.42's , dr's , 3400 yank) you should have no problem running 12.6 to 12.8 as long as the DA is good.
Without the stall you may still be able to crack a12.9 but low 13's is more likely. Post back when you run it so we can see how you do

I think tunes are very important especially on an Auto car. The factory really detuned these cars and when you add mods it just compounds that issue. I'd definitely add a tune and calibrate for your gears.
I know when I ran 12.87 that there was a lot left in my car that a tune could've helped with and made it run to its full potential.
