Hey all, I have my car at stock ride height 28", lca's at stock length 19 1/4"

Car is under load and I'm trying to Install my DS..

PST 3.5" aluminum with forged sonnax yoke that MWC uses now..

Seems to be a 1/2" off, literally..

I need a 1/2" for it to clear the pinion yoke so I can install it..

The yoke on the DS came with a counter bored inside, meaning the 1st 1/2" or so is not splined..

Is that how the sonnax yoke come with for a T56?

Too bad I just found out now and can't call them till Monday..

Interesting. I have the old yoke that came on the PST's and it is not how you describe. What rear do you have?

Is it bottoming out into the transmission or the yoke? Not to sure what's going on.

Sorry for the confusion, I pulled an all nighter working on this.

The yoke is bottomed out in the transmission as seen in the pic and is still too long to install it into the rear end pinion..

I think this driveshaft yoke is too long, I checked sonnax's website and they have 2 different kinds of 27 spline yokes for a 1350 series.. 1 counterbored yoke, which I have..

And 1 full splined yoke which according to their website is shorter..

Mine is very close also, you must be very creative to get the driveshaft u joint and pinion yoke to mate, by twisting and fanagling. It is possible however the easy solution would be to move the rear to a different position to create a little more room? I dunno I figured it out the other way and been doing that ever since. Make sure the trans is in neutral so you can turn the DS while mating it.

Yeah I'll check it out later, I snapped this pic of the DS and how close it is to going in.

I was thinking even if it went in at this point that it won't leave me with any slip travel.

I'll play with it more later, just was curious about it coming with a counterbored yoke.. Seems odd but what do I know..

From looking at that, you will not have enough travel for it. Best bet is to get a full splined shorter yoke. And another thing, you do have fully adjustable lca's.

Yes I do, thought of adjusting them further back however I'm running 27" tires and don't have a whole lot of room to move it back.. Plus they are perfectly centered right now but I'll check it out later.

Why not jack the car up with the rear end unloaded? If you do, and get it in mark the slip yoke where it meets the dust seal. Then load the suspension and mark it again. Pull the driveshaft and measure from mark to mark. You want around 1". From the factory they came with only about a 1/2".

That actually creates less room when the rear is hanging

I measured the DS @ 41.5" center to center..

I guess I'm just wondering if this counterbored yoke I have is causing me grieve since its 1.5" longer than the regular full splined yoke that sonnax sells..

If this was 1.5" shorter I could get the DS on and still have 1" slip travel

There's nothing left for me to adjust that will gain me room I need to get this on..

Took it off to measure and compare to stock DS

It's 1 3/4" longer than the stock DS, I guess it's supposed to be 1" longer than stock?

I'm guessing you bought it without measuring?

Typically not an issue with the MWC kit. Mine dropped in perfectly and I never took out the tape measure before ordering.

Did you have a counterbored yoke?

Give the shop a call when you can and we will see what is going on. (309)382-6252

With the center to center measurement it should fit just fine if not short. You need to make sure your pinion angle is set properly and wheel base is correct.

I honestly can't remember, I also went with the 3" PST shaft to save some $$ so I could have a different yoke anyways.
