Default 28 spline axle hp limit

I'm going to do a 8.8 swap in my camaro (450rwhp m6) and I'm curious what the stock axle can handle and what a 28 spline moser axle could handle hp wise. I know the rangers come with 410 posi 28 splines and stock axles will fit the ford carrier. Basically what I'm asking is finding a 31 spline carrier necessary for a dd that gets to see the track maybe twice a year. The car will be on slicks at the track. Would a moser 28 handle that?

Short answer I'd assume no. the clutch car isn't helping your case either. Realistically you're going to have to watch how you launch on the 31s with the 6 speed even

Stock Ford 28 spl 1040 8.8 axle has a yield of around 2835 ft/lbs each.
Moser 28 spl 1541 8.8 axle has a yield of around 4424 ft/lbs each.

Stock Ford 31 spl 1040 8.8 axle has a yield of around 3725 ft/lbs each.

The Ram PowerGrip will somewhat protect your drivetrain. If it were a PowerGrip HD (metallic), that clutch would pass along a lot more shock from dumping the clutch, more likely to break parts.

You should be fine on Moser 28's with your current clutch and power level.
