Default LSD upgrade options

Before I start, I should ask if the stock LSD unit can be "swapped" for aftermarket units? I don't have the money for a 9" or 12 bolt but I would like to upgrade the stock 10 bolt for now. The car is a '94 Z28 M6 with GU6 code, which is 3.73 gears if I'm not mistaken.

I have done some research and I'm trying to come up with a list of aftermarket options for the LSD unit.
What are the best units for a daily driver with 99% Street use and sometimes at the strip?

I have heard the T2R is good as is the TruTrac. What makes them different? Maintenance? Ease of install?

Any other units/brands to consider?

Ahh I thought I read somewhere that it was a 3.73 lol

What is a decently priced aftermarket unit for daily driving?

I don't know if anything is wrong with it persay, but it does make a bit of a bowling noise when you get on the throttle. Havnt checked if it's leaving 11's yet. Just looking to stay ahead of the curve and upgrade before I break something

The Torsen T2R has been out of production for almost 10 years now (for OUR 10 bolts, they still make it for the Ford 8.8s and others).

Neither are very strong in 10 bolt size for drag launches on sticky tires/track, but the Eaton Posi (carbon clutch packs), or the Eaton/'Detroit' Truetrac (Torsen-like worm/roller gears) are about as good as it gets for this axle for street use and very light, street tire drag use, unless you go to a spool (which IMHO is HORRID for street use even though many on here use them for such, and claim they are "OK").

Don't fix it if it isn't broken IMO

I don't know if its broken yet lmao yeah I definitely need something that is decent for street driving. Clutch pack LSDs are the best for that?

+1 IMHO the 10-bolt should only have money spent on it when something is clearly broken/wrong and you don't want to go up to an aftermarket rear.

Unless you have an A4 and want a better rear ratio

Torsen and Clutch type LSDs are both easy to drive on the street.

I've had a Tru-Trac in my car for 6 years and don't notice a difference from a clutch type posi. It's a nice piece.
