Default Rebuild ford 8.8 with stock ring and pinion?

I'm building a turbo LM7 for my 1966 ford pickup and I'll be using the rear end out of a 2003 police interceptor. I ordered new axles, bearings and a Detroit locker. Additionally I ordered a for racing 3.27 ring and pinion... a month and a half ago. I just checked my order status from summit and it says expected delivery at the end of October, ****. I really don't want to wait that long and I'm thinking about putting everything together with the stock ring and pinion. It has the same gear ratio so that won't be an issue it's just that I'm worried about something happening to it. Is this a failure point I should be concerned about? Any input is appreciated.

The factory gear set will be fine, just be sure to set it up right back where it came from.

Bound to be dozens of vendors with a 3.27 in stock. I'd no issue buying a spare a couple of months ago, egay handiest place to look.
