I am looking for advise on my rear axle I am looking to rebuild. I have the 3.23 gears in my 2002 Trans Am Ws6 ( verified with the build ). How do I determine the spline count on the axles? I have been looking through the forums and online, but can't see a post noting how to determine that, or at least have not found one yet. Of coarse I have not taken the rear end apart yet, just looking for replacement parts at this time to see how I want to proceed.

in regards to the reluctor wheel in the rear axle housing, does it have to be included when rebuilding the unit? I want to go to a posi unit, but it does not seem like I will be able to include the wheel in the new unit. Does the wheel have to be included, or will the ABS not work without it. I just trying to get some clarification before purchasing parts. thanks

The ABS will not work without it !

Usually you can use a propane torch to heat the ring up enough to expand it to fit the new posi unit.
