Rebuilding my 10 bolt what do I need?
So I have to replace the carrier bearings and the pinion bearing along with new gears because of the insanely load noise coming from the rear end. My question is what all do I need? I know the carrier/pinion bearing comes as a set but will there be anything else I need or should get? Also where is the best place to buy everything?

Probably wouldnt hurt to do wheel and axle bearings at the same time. Are you planning to do the rebuild yourself or pay a shop to do it? Most shops will want you to purchase all the parts through them but unfortunately that usually runs alot more expensive. If doing it yourself or having someone you know rebuild it, Ive always had good luck with Rons Machine Service. Not sure if he is a sponsor here so I wont post a link but give him a call, he should have everything you need to rebuild the whole rear end. Or Im sure any of the site sponsors like CRP, MWC and others that specialize in drivetrain and suspension should be able to fix you up with everything.

I just rebuilt mine. I bought the Motive Timken kit. Just make sure the pinion seal is the right one. I also bought new axle bearings/seals and new axles. I pressed in the carrier bearing and axle bearings/seals myself. I had someone do the pinion bearing and set it to specs for $150.

Awesome! Thanks for the responses. I will be having a friend of my dads do it. I'll check out the suggestions and see what they have.
blkbird is this what you bought?

Depends weather you have the tools, press/calipers/dial indicator/beam style torque wrench, and something to pull the bearings with. If you want to skip that I guess a dremel with cutting disks can do. Set up bearings for the pinion would be great, and besides that I think patience you will need lots of it.

I have used the Ratech kit twice to initially build and then rebuild the rear in my WS6... I went with the full rebuild kit the first time and then when I ripped teeth off of the pinion gear, I went with a partial rebuild kit... I ended up blowing it up again eight days later.
I ended up ordering an S60 just recently and am currently awaiting on its delivery, all things considered, I would not rule out an S60/12-bolt/9" as an insurance marker. Just some food for thought!

So I've decided to go with the Motive kit blkbird had suggested and then I think I am going to stick with Motive gears as well. Just going to put the factory 323s back in it. Was wonder if this is the correct set and that the axel numbers are correct.

I bought my Camaro last month with only 60,000 miles on it and the rear is already noisy. I am going to drive it that way and save up for an S60, if it blows before I save the money, I will go into savings. Third car I have had with a 10 bot and all had problems. The 9-bolt that came in third gens never gave me a problem. Would rather get the strong rear and be done with it. GM should have never quit putting 12 bolts in their performance cars.
