Default Stange 12 bolt NEW $2053 vs used $2400

So im in the market for a 12 bolt rear end since I destroyed the my stock 10 bolt. I keep getting quotes on used ones for around $2200-$2400 but I can get one new for about $2000. Am I looking at something wrong? Should I just get the used one? Is this quote wrong on the new one? I have attached a quote to this thread as an example.

you have no posi, that's a spool. if you ad a posi, it will go up by 500ish.

enter Section: Eaton Posi - No ABS
$551.00
$551.00

STR-OPRG10
Rear Cover: Aluminum Girdle Cover
$115.00
$115.00

that makes it 2700 plus shipping

I'm not expert by any means, so take that with caution and do your own research. The reason i did one on my 12bolt years ago was that it was suppose to keep things in place. I'll say no more other than their direct marketing and you can make your own decision if the $110 is better spent elsewhere.

Description:

Made from 356-T6 cast aluminum, these girdles incorporate a reinforced crossbar. The crossbar houses the load bolts that apply pressure to the bearing caps. This feature, along with the thick casting, prevents bearing cap deflection under severe loads. Which in turn greatly reduces or eliminates (in most cases) bearing cap fatigue and failure.
TA Performance has been manufacturing these rear girdles for over 20 years and continues to offer the most widely used and respected girdle in the industry. TA Performance is proud to be the OEM supplier for Ford Racing Performance Parts, formerly SVO. The TA girdle is the only girdle that has been thoroughly tested and approved by an automotive manufacturer. There are many copies of this cover available on the market, but none are as strong and of high quality as these TA girdles. These rear end girdles were the first and are still the best, Insist on Genuine TA girdles! Don't put your rear at risk by using an imitation TA girdle.

This cover was specifically designed to add support to the bearing caps under severe loads and acceleration, and these girdles substantially strengthen the rear end. They also add fluid capacity, which helps to lower the fluid temperature. Comes with drain and fill plugs for easy maintenance.

Features:

*All TA girdles are made of 356 aircraft grade aluminum, heat treated to T6 specifications, each cover is then stress relieved.
*All girdles incorporate a fill port and a drain port for ease of servicing.
*All girdles incorporate 2 load bolts with swivel "feet" for supporting the bearing caps.
*All girdles increase fluid capacity approx. 1/2 pint.
*All girdles show a decrease in operating temperature, average of 15 degrees.
*Weighs about 7.5 lbs.
*Improves undercarriage appearance.
*Comes complete with girdle, bolts, gasket and instructions.

Man that's a little to high for that used IMO. I can get a brand new 12 bolt here in MI from DTS with posi, girdle, etc, etc...and all the bells and whistled installed for just over 3k. That comes with a 6 year warranty and they even break in the gear set for you

Take my advice and get the powder coat. I saved and wished i hadnt. Went back and had it powdercoated years later cause i hated looking at it. Here's my build thread with costs included.

That's what i was thinking but I cant really put a price on someone else things. But with that being said, what do you all think is a reasonable price for what i have listed used.

Thanks for the advice. I will definitly do that. Does not having a power coat affect performance?
