Problems With UMI Torque Arm
I have the Brute Speed nine inch for a 1998 Camaro which I've had the rear end up in the car three different times and can't get the rear end even between the rear fender wells mainly on the pass-side. I have the UMI relocation crossmember with the single adjustable torque arm what I think I've figured out is if I use the set of holes on the torque arm closest to the drive shaft it seems perfectly straight like it should be but the holes don't align up enough to get the bolt in so it looks like i need to grind on the torque arm bracket? Has anyone ran into this problem? Thanks for any info u may have to offer!
Bill

Bob, I measured the lower control arms and they are the correct ones! Question? Is it possible to have put the torque arm mounting brace or bracket whatever the correct term is(on the wrong way?) The big metal chunk that came with the rear end that your torque arm bolts to? If I remember right it would only go on one way?
Thanks
I just got off your website and the brace- bracket I got with the rear end is totally different looking from the pic's I just looked at on your web site!

Bob I tried to send u more pic's with my wifes phone and it failed. Might be something wrong on your end? Anyway, I'm done messing with this damn thing until the weekend. I'll try to take out and reinstall and see what I can figure out.

Bob, Update! Called UMI got measurements on TQ arm-pan hard bar and lower control arms and with a second pair of hands it's in and looks good. The measurements on the lower control arms wasn't correct coming from UMI which I took for granted they were. (WRONG) Heres the measurements if anyone runs into this problem.
LOWER CONTROL ARMS 19/1/4 eye to eye.
PanHard Bar 43 eye to eye
Torque Arm on bottom adjuster 6 threads showing on both sides of the adjuster nut once tightened. WORKED FOR ME.
Thanks Bill
