Just like the title says. I think its a 7.5" 10 bolt, but I want to be sure. Its out of my 76 Nova.

That certainly looks like a 7.5" to me. I have the 8.5" in my '71 (mine is actually out of a '74) and the housing is much rounder with beefier axle tubes.

You can check out some comparison pics in this link:

Looks like the only way to have gotten an 8.5" in a '76 Nova originally is if the car came with a 350. Other engines received the 7.5", SS or not. Many of these cars have had axle swaps at this age but, regardless, yours definitely appears to be a 7.5" currently.

Its the original 350 V8 motor still in the car. I know nothing has been swapped on the car before because my uncle bought this car brand new in 76 and had it until I got it from him. Anywho I bought a 8.8" today from a foxbody so im just going to swap that in. Thank you for the info though

That is definitely not an 8.5 or the older 8.2
Perfect time to instal a 8.8 from an Explorer or a Mustang though. Not sure what your goal is but the 8.8 is just an inexpensive way for strength, LSD, gear especially in the Xplorer/Mountaineer models
