Short axle shaft?

Short axle shaft? First off, can some confirm the axle shaft length on '99 Camaro SS is 32" from flange to the end of the splines?
If that's correct, my shafts are too short. I've got 32" from flange to the absolute end of the shaft.
I'm in the middle of a rear end brake conversion to a C5/C6 using a Kore3 kit. These shafts are on a working setup, so I'm curious what modifications may have been done to this car before I owned it. Everything appears OEM to me.
Is there a common mod that requires slightly shorter shafts? I'm basically wondering what I started with.
