Default New Gears for an S10 differential

I found a 1999 S10 Blazer rear end with 3.42 ratio and put under my 1931 Buick due to the width match. The tranny is a TH400 and the RPMs are up on the highway. I want to install a 2.73 ring and pinion but am learning that may not be possible due to series 2 versus series 3 carrier. Is it a possibility I can get a 2.73 set for a series 3 carrier? I don't want to give up my rear disc brakes.
