4:10's ????????? ok am I stupid? I bought some 4:10s from a guy in my car club brand new still in box, When I opened them, the pinion gear only has 9 teeth and the Ring Gear is 37 teeth, doesnt that make these 4:11's??? They even say 4:10's stamped on the ring? I thought 4:10's have 10 teeth on pinion gear and 40 on Ring? Sorry if this is dumb, but I just dont know. On the box it says GM7.5-4.10  |
Anyone???? |
I think they're the same thing? When I went to West Coat Diff. a pretty reputable shop, I asked for 4.10's and he said that they were 4.11's and I said, I thought everyone put 4.10's in these. He said they're the same thing. Or atleast they must be VERY close. So I ended up with 4.11's LOVE em. Hope this helps. My little 10 bolt is starting to leak though. Whish I had some 4.11's in a new Strange 12 bolt |
they are the same as mine don't worry about it. |
Cool, I was worried, thanks guys, how ya liking that cam I sold you Mcfly? Still have it in? |
It's still in, the clutch is about toast, looking at a Spec-3 a guy has locally, will probably brake down and put in an LS-6 intake also, the 4.10/4.11's do not like street tires I balded up a set of new ones and have KD's on right now totally useless in first and second gear w/o major feathering of the throttle should have a new set of nittos this week (again)!!! |
4.10's are 41 ring 10 pinion. 4.11's are 37 ring 9 pinion. They are different. 4.11's tend to be stronger due to less and thicker teeth. |
were can i get 411 gears for a ten bolt with 37 teeth instead of 41??? everywere i look they only have 410??? thanks! shawn |
GM Motive makes some. |
every were i call no body knows what im talking about... were and what part number...? thanks! |
If you want the gear ratio in the rear end or any gear set up, just divide the number of teeth of the pinion into the number of teeth of the ring gear. That is your ratio. Yes its that simple. :drive: |
