Gear Install prices

how much would if cost to get a set of 3.73 gears installed? will they whine if install properly? how much performance or acceleration will be gained? are 4.10's a better choice? thanks

You can use the search feature to get better answers tailored to your application but typically:

A4 = 3.73
M6 = 4.10 or taller (I would get 4.30)

Should run you a couple of hundred bucks for most cars to get them installed with new bearings and set up right. And if installed and broken in properly they should not whine much at all if any. Gains as in quicker e/t will depend on your combo.

Most places seem to charge $250. But that doesn't include the cost of the gears, fluids, or install kits.

$250 and up here.

most places want closer to $400 though.

then youll need to adjust your speedo which is about $50-$75 at a shop that has the right programming.
