Default LT=LOWEND TQ LOSS 4.10's ????

Installed LT's gained 20HP lost about 20lbs TQ under 3500 RPM. I have a stock 10 bolt with a cover and studs. Chris at Thunder Racing said some 4.10,s in it. I said xTQ will break it! He said that 4.10's would last as long as my 3.42's. Put them and have some fun he said. What do you think? Don't waste my time?

My 4.10's lasted for 4 years.

But I never launched high and hard on sticky tires. That would change everything.

that 20 ft/lbs of torque lost under 3500 wont matter at the track. The only thing it would affect is the launch and it might actually help if you're launching on street tires. For the rest of the track the RPMs wont go under 3500.

I haven't even been to the track yet. This is a daily driver. I miss my TQ.

I went to 4.10s - great when the engine is stock. They didn't break...but was too much gear for the track - needed more room for MPH. I would recommend 3.73s. Also, the 4.10s are tiny compared to the 3.42s. I'm getting a 9inch built right now...which I would have saved all of that money I spend on the 10bolt and put it towards the 9inch...I'll be selling my TA cover/etc soon.

I seriously doubt it...not on a 112 at least. If you really do need to pass smog, something like a 220 on a 114 is probably as big as you want to go and not be required to have a 'perfect' smog tune. Bigger cams *may* pass sometimes...but man I doubt it.
