Default how much for new AXLE??

I got my 3.73's installed to day and my mechanic said my axles are looking bad. He did not give and idea on what the cost. I would like to know how much I'm looking at. Should I be worried about snapping the axles I went from 2.73 to 3.73. My car only makes 311rwhp.

Call superior gear or drivetrain direct in california. I dont have a number off hand, but they make a upgraded axle for a reasonable cost.

Just talked to mechanic I guess wear the axle bearing was on the axlxe shaft it is pitted. He said he relocated the axle bearing. Even if it is pitted I dont' make near enough HP to have to worriy about it.

Relocating the axle bearing (axle saver bearings) isnt a good idea on a car that sees long highway trips. They are a sealed unit, so htey dont share oil with the rest of the housing, which can cause them to overheat. If it doesnt see a lot of long highway miles it will be fine. Just letting you know.
