Default ET Streets set "Brake" and "ABS InOp" Light

I put on my new ET Streets this evening.

A minute or two down the road, after I crank up, the "Brake" light and "ABS InOp" light come on.

Will the computer learn the tire size, or am I stuck with these lights?

I got 26x11.5x16's. They are only about .35" taller than stock.

There are a few possibilities here:

One, you damged the brakes or the speed sensor when you replaced the tires, or

Two, if you have drastically different tire sizes on your car, it might be possible that you could cause the ABS to become inoperative since the front and rear tires are spinning at rates that are too different. I have heard of this happening, but have never seen it directly. Anyone else know about this??

It's normal. Don't sweat it. The rears are different dia from your fronts. This fools the ABS into thinking something is wrong.

Same thing happens to me when I go pass 60 MPH. I have 27x10.5x15 on my car. I agree with WeatherGuy, the drastic difference in tire sizes causes the front and rear tires to spin at different rates.

Thanks, guys!

I do have smaller P225/50R16s on the front. Looks like about an inch difference in height.

I did about three test runs early this morning.
These things hook up better at 30 PSI on a cool morning than Nittos or BFGs do at 18-22 PSI at ANY time.

Too bad I may not get to try them on a good track before the year is out. I sure wouldn't mind closing out the year with a new best. <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

heres what I would try to get rid of it. I think it worked on my car but the abs above 70 is touchy. If you have hpp3 set your tire height to 26 and it shoudln't come on again.

I have the same problem, but when my lights come on i loose my power brakes, making it difficult to slow at the end of the 1/4.. i hear that pulling the parking brake up one click will keep the power brakes from cutting out.. but its certainly not fun when the do!

When I ran the shorter VW tires (165R15) on front skinnies the ABS INOP light came on also. Since then I've changed to 26x4.5 ET Fronts and it fixed the problem.
