Default Bar above panhard rod removal??

Guys have any of you noticed any affects from moving the bar that sits above the panhard rod? (flexible piece of crap)
Anyone know how much it weighs? I think a couple of guys removed it without ill affects but I am curious what you think of this mod.
Thanks,
Chris

Good question. That thing is too flimsy to be
supporting anything - is is supposed to support
the panhard mount on the rearend or what?

I am not sure. I think JS removed his and he is running low 1.5 sixty's in his full weight car without ill effects.
Might be worth checking into.

I ran mine a long time without but recently reinstalled it. Its main function is to support the panhard bar tower should you side swipe a curb, etc. I may also serve to strengthen the tower under hard accelleration. I ran a 1.57 and have not had a problem however. When I reinstalled mine the bolts aligned perfectly so I know nothing has bent. It weighs almost 5 pounds but for the insurance I feel it is probably better to leave it on.
