SFC's on 2001/2002 convertible My 2002 convertible has stock SFC's made of sheet metal. BMR sells an add-on to suppliment it. Has anyone installed those? Do they actually improve on the stock SFC alone? Thankee, |
Re: SFC's on 2001/2002 convertible The stock "subframes" are a joke. I have the KBDD SFC and they really help the car alot. Whether you chose BMR or KBDD, get some soon; the car feels much tighter with them. A STB helps some too, but not as much as SFC's. |
Re: SFC's on 2001/2002 convertible I don't think Kenny Barron makes SFC's for the 2001/2002 convertibles. If so, I can't find it on his web page. |
Re: SFC's on 2001/2002 convertible Call them and ask. They may not have updated their webpage. 99's are probably the same as the '01 & 02's in that area |
Re: SFC's on 2001/2002 convertible The KBDDs and an STB really tighten up the car. Pics of the KBDDs on my 01 SS vert. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...8082bGViOBjrhd |
Re: SFC's on 2001/2002 convertible I found another web page that says the KBDD's are good for 93 to 02. Maybe I'll go with those. There's more to them. Think they are better? They cost an extra $110. |
Re: SFC's on 2001/2002 convertible I have gone with the whole BMR suspension/chassis upgrade and love the difference in the feel of the car. Have a good welder tech do the install to insure good consistant welds to the existing rails. BMR offers powdercoating to match your paint color, which is not exact but looks nice when everything is the same. The Navy Blue looks more blue/purple, but so does the car in different light. Good Luck w/ the mods. If you lower the car first you will find the need to do all the others,ie LCA's,LCA lowering brackets, front and back sways w/bushings and endlinks, torque arm w/ bushing, tranny mount bushing, adjustable PHB. Looks great and drives like a dream! http://www.camaro-ss.com/gallery/reader214.jpg |
Re: SFC's on 2001/2002 convertible I didn't notice a huge difference in the feel of the car when I had my BMR SFC's installed, but I figured it's insurance against rattles and shakes, anyway. After owning a 96 Z28 vert that sounded like a conestoga wagon after 2 years of frequent drag racing, I said I'd put SFC's on the next f-body convertible I owned right away, and I did. |
