I ran low 11's with a full weight Z28 + a procharger for over 100 passes on a stock rear with ET streets and many have run faster. With an auto you can get away with it but just know in the back of your mind it can pop the stock 10 bolt at anytime
Local guy here bracket races a 98z28 with 9" M/T drags, stock 3.23 and the car has 100K miles on it and is daily driven. Probably has 1000 passes on the stock rear over the last 3 years. Car runs low 8s/high7s in the 1/8 and has a lid, headers and ST3500 converter.

My only suggestion is, DON'T put money into your stock 10bolt by getting bigger gears or what no, Save the money you would spend and put it towards a 12bolt, In many causes your just dumping the money down the toliet!
