Default 2 series carier or 3 series for swap

New to the rear-end, have a 95 T/A with 2.73 and would like to go to 3.73. Do I need to also change the carier to a 3 series. I have tried to do a search but did not have any luck. Thanks for any and all help.

2.73 is a 2 series carrier, I know that richmond makes 3.73 gears to fit the 2 series.

Thanks, I have read that some were doing the gears to a 3.73, just didn't know how. There is a 3 series for sale for $200 and ring/gear for $120 in the "for-sale' section, would it be better to change to a 3 or keep the 2? Thanks

Either way is fine.
3-series gear and 3-series diff or "Thick" gear with 2-series diff.
But DO NOT get a spacer, those are problems.
