Aluminum vs. Steel Drivshaft
I had just recently took my aluminum driveshaft in for some new u-joints and maybe a new yoke and they call back saying that my driveshaft is bent. So basically I need a new driveshaft and they offered to build be a new one for $260 but it's a steel one and also would be 3lbs. heavier in weight. Is this a resonable deal. Also what are the advantages of an aluminum driveshaft over a steel driveshaft other than it being lighter in weight? What are the main causes for a bent driveshaft as well?

traction is gonna be the deciding factor on a driveshaft. i was making right at 415 rwhp for over a year with no problems. first trip to the track with the 9" and slicks stocker bit the dust.
i went with a chromoly one that way i never have to worry about, ever. rather overbuild than underbuild ya know

Denny's Nitrous is guaranteed to take anything that you can throw at it, say 2,000 rwhp +. It does weigh 7 lbs more, but IMO worth it. It's great being able to dump the clutch a 5,000 rpm with a 9" and not have to worry about anything breaking.
