How much diff with 4.10's I just ordered 4.10's and install kit, and will be probably be putting them in next week when they arrive. How much difference am I going to feel from the stock gears??? (this is my first set of 4.10's, and I've never driven a car with them before...) |
You will feel a HUGE difference. Probably give you a couple tenths, and 2 MPH at the strip too. |
I picked up 4 tenths and 3 mph going from 3.42's to 4.10's in shitty air. |
You will feel a huge difference when half the teeth break off the ring gear and you're sitting on the side of the road! Do you think everybody that puts a 12 bolt in their cars does it for fun?n You can put them in and feel the awesome difference for a little while, maby a long time if you are lucky, which i hope you are ;) I would never ever ever never touch the guts of a 10 bolt with a 6 speed car, except to put a t/a girdle on it. I have 4.11's in my car now and love them, they are killer on the street with sticky tires. And with my cam spinning to 6700, 1st gear is nuts (when it hooks). |
I agree. I'd take it kinda easy on the 10 bolt. It'll be alot more fun to drive though. |
the 10 bolt is going to break, so start savin for a 12 bolt now. other than that a mjor diff. goin to feel nice. |
I like that when they hook, three gears sets think I'de learn by now ! |

I am currently saving up for my 12 bolt. I have 2 questions though. I would like to keep my asr ( for those rainy days), and does anyone make 3.93 gears for that rear? |

I do hear that the 3.90's have a tendancy to make more noise for some reason than the other sets though. I would order it with those 3.90's then have a rear end shop check them out before installation to make sure everything is kosher. |

Seriously, I'm hip on the girdle, and this is probably just a bridge to handle head/cam swap until it breaks and I've got some more dough squirreled away. I can't wait; it's going to be hard to baby them for a few hundred miles  |
