Default Noisy driveline?...

The car: 1998 TA with a pro 5.0 (6 speed obviously) and Hooker catback as the only mods, 40,000 miles.

Here's my question: Should my driveline be really noisy?? I know the pro 5.0 tranny noise is normal but i get a clunk when first taking off in first and when first moving in reverse. Its almost as if the driveshaft is loose and it snaps when it catches. Also, when i make a left turn, up an incline i get a clunking/light banging noise.

Any ideas or opinions??

It had a write up for exchanging the stock cover for the TA cover, so i guess it still applies. What should i torque my stock cover down to? The same as the TA?

Also, how hard is it to replace the front pinion seal?

Sounds like your rear diff with problems. Could be as simple as changing to the genuine GM posi additive. When was the last time you changed the rear diff gear oil?

Did changing the dif. fluid remedy it? If it didn't, what did you do to fix the problem?

I haven't had time to change the fluid yet. It will be when finals are over (this week). I'll let you know.
