My leg hurt's from trying to bleed the hyd. ? Need Help
Do I have a bad Mcleod master cyl. ? I just got my clutch kit last week. I pump the clutch pedal 50-75 times, then without the slave connected I use a screwdriver to release the pressure on the line with the clutch pedal to the floor. Refill the resivour and repeat the process. It seems I am getting nowhere. The clutch pedal still feel's real light. Any suggestion's???

Re: My leg hurt's from trying to bleed the hyd. ? Need Help
I adjusted my m/c rod out about 1" past the brake pedal but still no luck. I pump the clutch about the same number of strokes and the quick connect valve gets hard to push open and a gush of fluid comes out. The pedal may seem a little stiffer but not much at all. Everytime I press in the clutch the m/c makes a squeegie sound. I hooked up my new slave cyl. and tried to see if that would move but it only moved like a 1/16 of an inch. Should I try my stock m/c and see what happens or try another method with the Mcleod ???
Help is greatly appericated!!!

Re: My leg hurt's from trying to bleed the hyd. ? Need Help
I'm not sure about the specifics of the hydraulic clutch on the F body, but typically bleeding a hydrolic system is a two person project. One person opens the slave cylinder's bleeder, the other pushes the pedal to the floor, then the first person closes the bleeder BEFORE the pedal comes back up. If you pump the pedal with the system closed, you may pressurize it, but the air can not flow through the system and out the bleeder. That's why the pedal stays soft. There's still air in the system which compresses when you push the pedal. (hydraulic fluid does not compress, instead it pushes on pistons.) Typically the only way to bleed a system without the three-step process I described above is by using a vacuum pump on the bleeder to suck the fluid through the system and pull the air bubbles out.
Like I said: I could be wrong, but that's usually how it goes.

You must have someone hold that pedal to the floor. If you continue to get air I would chech the master its self, I had a bad one from Mcleod. The fluid would actualy rise in the resevor Sp? check for that, Good luck!
