4.10's are in!

Installed the Strange 4.10 gears last night, and so far so good. They have a slight howling noise in 5th or 6th gear at speeds over 50-60mph, but other than that everything is fine. Haven't taken them over 3000 rpms yet, still being easy on them and breaking them in. Can't wait to eventually take it full throttle! :judge: :)

are you running the stock 10 bolt?

Fire-formula 93 Jun 16, 2006 12:46 PM

You will love it, trust me :)

Is the 6th gear howling/whistle noise ok? Will it wear my gears out eventually? Its not incredibly loud, but it is annoying when accelerating in 6th around 60-70mph. Someone in the back seat probably wouldn't be very happy. :emb:

And yes, I'm running the stock 10 bolt. Haven't run WOT yet (still breaking them in), but up to 3-3500rpm is definitely fun. :)

I was told the 4.10s would be noisier due to more teeth and the hardness of the gears compared to stock. Dont know if this is true, just what I was told. Mine are noisy in 5th and 6th.
