Strange gears and synthetic oil?
When I got my install instructions from Strange for my 3.73 R&P they told me that they don't recommend synthetic gear oil.
Anyone know why?
Anyone here running Strange gears -- what do you use?

Actually Strange Tech support told me directly not to use synthetic with their gear set.
This is from their email:
"We do not recommend synthetics. We do not feel that synthetic fluid gives adequate protection between the gears."

Well..... I agree.
I have been saying this for years, but, my reasoning is that synthetics dont have the shock loading prinicipals that is mandatory in helical cut, hypoid type gear applications. The only way to improve the shock loading properties in a synthetic, is to use/add some Lucas (syn) oil stabilizer.
Other than that.... I will never use a full syn in a differential just from the years of experience with and actually seeing the results myself.
