Default 3.73's or 4.10's?

i had some motive 4.10's, which led to the destruction of my rearend and gears 1/2 in the trans. ive since toned down some and currently have slp 3.73's. based on the mods i have listed in the sig, would i make better dyno stats with the 4.10's or the 3.73's? ok LS1 brains help me out

I did a comprimise on mine and went to a 3.90 in my 9". I heard the auto cars like the 3.73's and the 6 speeders work better with a 4.10. I have a th350 with the 3.90's and I think a gear vendors will be next so I can hwy cruise it on power tour!!!

I went with the SLP (GM/AAM) 4.10's, but added the Rear end girdle to go with it. I think it's a must for 4.10s and 400+ fwhp. Make sure it's the kind with the bolts through to the carrier bearing main caps... I know these gears have been like adding 25-50 HP in some close contests...

I prefer 3.73. Depends on the person.

well ill admit, there was a noticeable diff between the motive 4.10s and the slp 3.73's. out of curiosity would normally make better dyno stats with 4.10s or 3.73's? the numbers i made were when i had the 4.10's

4.10's will eat up more power on a dyno than 3.73's.... its not much, maybe like 1 or 2 hp thats about it

Don't choose your gear ratio by what it will read on the dyno. Regardless of what the dyno reads, if 3.73s dyno higher than 4.10s, which they will, the 4.10s will rain supreme at the track and on the street.

Just like converters in autos hurt the dyno number, but help everywhere else, so do steeper gears.
