Default worth putting 4.10's in a 100k mile 10 bolt?

as the title says, my car is a DD with 100k miles, is it worth spending money on 4.10's to put into this thing? i rarely drive the car hard, and have never really launched the car, i suck at launching but im still worried that i'll break it

any thoughts if its worth my time or the risk involved??

the fact that it has 100k miles is kind of irrelevant, since you will be changing all of the bearings/ring/pinion/etc most of the rear will be new after rebuild. 4.10s make it feel so fun...I'd do it. You have the same chance of breaking a 10 bolt as someone else with 30k miles, they are a crapshoot.

hmmmm i guess you're right... so what actually breaks when people say "i broke my 10 bolt"

the ring and/or pinion? not the actual 10 bolt casing that you see when you look under the car??

I think it's typically the posi unit (as I believe happened with keliente's 10 bolt?) or the ring and pinion.

I'be got 4.10s in my 10 bolt, and it just turned over 64,000 miles tonight. I'm not easy on the car, either. I haven't launched (really can't with 4.10s and 245s) hard yet, but I don't play easy with the clutch when I'm going WOT, either. Now, whether the 10 bolt would hold up with stickier tires out back and a decent launch, I don't know. Some people can run 11s on a 10 bolt, some people destroy them with a stock car.

If you want the 4.10s, I'd say go for them, regardless of mileage on the axle.

also... where would the best place be when it comes to getting all of this stuff? i saw this in the sponsor section:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/sponsor-sales-specials/564949-motive-gears-install-kits-back-sale.html

only problem is it doesn't state what comes in the "master/basic install kit", would this include new bearings and all that stuff? or just hardware?
