Default Lost close to 100rwhp through drivetrain: What could've caused it?

Can a rediculously overfilled tranny cause such a breakdown in hydraulics to cause that much
drag? Or was my Torque Converter bad?

My engine threw a rod on the highway so I replaced it with a new shortblock. I put back in my
Vig3200, and went for a drive. I had a strange hollow-rubbing noise coming from the tranny
area that could only be heard from inside the car.

I went to the dyno and only pulled 283rwhp, down from 321rwhp, pre- cam!!

Now, I messed up and overfilled the tranny. I mean absolutely overfilled it. I assumed I had lost
just that much fluid. When the Vig was being pulled fluid was shooting out the tail when the
driveshaft was taken out. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" /> As well as anytime the tranny was moved.

So could it be the fluid causing the loss, or a bad TC. Now that my stocker is back in, I'm
back in the high 3XX rwhp.

Any theories?

i would have the trans checked out, may have messed something up inside it when the motor went

I think either I had WAAAAAYAYYYYY too much fluid or the torque converter is bad. I'm just trying to get some opinions on wheter it could've been the fluid.

I really don't want to spend anymore money on another TC

what does the torque curve look like on the dyno? does it just go up a little then flat line across? if so I would say your slipping.

From what I understand the 4L60-E cannot be overfilled as long as the vent tube isn't kinked/clogged. The fluid will just heat up/expand and overfill will expand out the vent tube.

On my car the vent tube is clipped to the torque arm.

Happy driving,
