Won't Shift Into 3rd At WOT Help!!
 

Sometimes the car will shift into OD as soon as possible and will stay there unless manually downshifted, but then will go back to OD after a second or two. Shifting is also kinda erratic(sp?) sometimes it'll shift very hard, but other times it is very soft and easy. At WOT sometimes it won't shift into 2nd, but will not shift into 3rd or 4th unless I let off for about a half a second. I am getting a TPS code, an MAF code, and a tranny code. We(MTI and I) were thinking it was a bad TPS, but I replaced it with a brand new one, and the problem persists. I have reset the PCM a couple times and that didn't help either.
I'm thinking maybe it's the MAF?
Any ideas?

change your shift points, if u installed your TC
nothing else to add

MTI changed the shift points and the rev limiter when they did the tuning after the cam. The converter has not been put in yet. It is not just bouncing off the rev limiter, I am getting codes.

Maybe this should be moved to the Computer Diagnostics Board.

I'll leave this topic here for now. If you are getting codes, you can add them to this post and start a topic on those codes in Computer.

Have you talked to MTI about this? Try putting your stock MAF on and see if that helps.

Haven't had a chance to talk to MTI yet. Will call them this afternoon. The car is at a local shop getting the converter, shift kit,etc put in. They are gonna check it out while its there.

I don't have another MAF, I just have new ends.

Check with MTI and make sure they didn't increase your shift firmness. You don't want to add extra computer driven line pressure on top of a shift kit.

Which would be better, the computer controlled firmer shifts or a shift kit?

I talked to Jeff@MTI today, and he said that this IS my TPS so I need to check the wiring and replace it. The local shop told me it had a TPS code, and a couple O2 sensor codes(open headers at the moment), which backs up MTI's thoughts.

The local shop doesn't want to mess with it much until it has exhaust on it, they said it was too loud and didn't want to get a ticket test driving it. So I should have the car back tomorrow and then I'll be able to check out the wiring.

A properly installed shift kit is the better way to increase shift firmness.

thanks for the info, I guess I need to get LS1 edit or something to fix that stuff if they messed with it so I can put in the shift kit.
