TR224 and 4.30's ? Is 4.30's too much gear for a TR224/224 ? I'm currently running 4.10 right now. With my stock cam in. I am going install my new cam next week, then the week after I am dropping a 12 bolt in. I am currently going to order my 12 with 4.10's, but I'm curious how 4.30's would run. I currently work 8 miles from home, the only highway driving I do is when I head to the track about 60 miles away. I contemplated the TR230/224 with a 4.30's gear. But I want a little more daily street driving performance and engine life, so I've decided on the TR224 for now. Would 4.30's be too much? Thanks. |
Re: TR224 and 4.30's ? I don't think so. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Remember that I am one of the most extreme drag racers on this site. <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> |
Re: TR224 and 4.30's ? I ran the TR224/224 114lsa cam with 4:30 gears and it was just about the perfect combo. I was running 11.50 @ 121 (1.71 60') last winter with stock heads. 26x10x15 ET Drags would be a great idea as well. Jason |
Re: TR224 and 4.30's ? Jason you said 4.10's were nice.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> |

Re: TR224 and 4.30's ? LOL, give Jason time and he will have 4.88s or 5.14s. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> I ran 11.80 @ 116mph on a 1.58 60' with the TR224, stock heads, 4.10 gears, 26x10x15 ET Drags. Justin ( likes his 4.10s <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ) |
Re: TR224 and 4.30's ? Hey Iam going to go to 5.13's this off season. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> I ran 12.23 at 114 with a 1.68 60ft. with just a lid and macs, a borla exhust and 4.56's <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" /> My 4.56's ROCK! <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" /> <small>[ July 15, 2002, 10:11 PM: Message edited by: Coach 02 M6 Z/28 ]</small> |
Re: TR224 and 4.30's ? I just installed Jason's old 4.30's over the weekend all I have to say is why get 4.10's if you can get 4.30's. I have a T1 cam but if I had a 224 cam I would have the 4.56's in mine <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> |
Re: TR224 and 4.30's ? If you think 4.56s are nice...try 4.71s <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> |

Re: TR224 and 4.30's ? Mike, I believe I was going through the traps around 6600 in 4th gear. |
