IMO no, my car came with them before I started changing things. Loved them on the highway...

Wasn't just for gas mileage on the highway, but for the way it downshifted at speed too...anyway, guess it depends what you're shooting for...but they don't really really suck on a stock car for either.

well, ive got 3.23s and i go to the track every once in a while and am definatly going to get a stall after headers are on the car, and i would recommend the upgrade to 3.73s cause how ever well a stall makes ur car with 2.73s, it will be that much faster with a stall and 3.73s. Also, if u wanna keep those gears i would recommend getting a bigger stall.

I used 2.73's with a 3600 stall and turned 1.6 60ft's. The only problem with that is- Everybody knows that a stock 10 bolt is a piece of crap. But with 2.73's it puts all the accel pressure on your transmission not the rear-end. I went through 2 transmissions with my 2.73's and when i changed out to 3.73's I broke my rear after only 3 good hard launches.

well, ive talked to sponsors and they said for a street car to just go with a 3200. its never gonna see the track anyways. its a daily driver. i want something nice and tight. i dont see how i can possibly hook on a 3800+ size stall on the street anyways.

I'm planning to keep my 2.73s and get a VIG 3200 stall. I've seen guys run mid to high 11s of course that's w/ heads and cam combo.

I would get the converter first and then see what you think about your gears. I did the opposite because I hated my 2.73's around town. But my car has been hard to launch with the 3.42's. I'm beginning to wonder if I might do better with the softer launch of the 2.73's.

I hated my 2.73's when the car was stock. Absolute joke from a dig. I was going to get rid of them and swap for a 12 bolt or S60 ASAP but... After the FLT and the Vig 3600 plus a tune.. whole different story! It knocked .6 of the 1/4 mile and it cuts 1.7's on Dr's with ease. I'm happy enough with the 2.73's now to forget the rearend for now and go with a cam only and some headers as the next mods.

I was running consistent 11.8-11.7 with 2.73 and 2800 stall. I like them, and they were great on gas.
