Rear on the way out?
Rear on the way out? On a moderately hard launch I hear a bang from the rear of the car. Is it time for me to save for a 12 bolt? I am leaking a little fluid and I'm not sure if there is a way for me to check the level?
Could be wheel hop...could also be your transmission mount letting the trans bang the cross member (but you'd probably know if it was that). It doesn't necessarily mean your 10-bolt is on its way out, but if it is wheel hop, any rear end wouldn't like that.
As for checking the level, GM included an idiot-proof fill plug on the passenger side of the pumpkin. Take it out (on level ground), and see if anything comes out (nothing will most likely). Then add a little until it does...that'll top it off.

but its in an idiot area. cant fill it worth a **** with anything. need a pump. even the little bottles of the LSD additive.

Honestly, I've never used that plug to fill it since I got a TA cover the first time I changed the fluid.
