Difference's in a 2 and 3 carrier and the gears

what is the difference in a 2 and 3 carrier and on 3.73 gears whats the difference between one for either carrier?

About .250, either the differential case of ring gear will have the added thickness or case heigth.

so IT IS required to have a thick gear for the series two carrier then?
