4.10's or 3.73's I'm thinking about getting some gears in my 99 SS but i'm not sure which to get. The car is an A4 with an ST-3500. The car will really only see highway use when going to the track. It is not a daily driver. Is 4.10's to much? Thanks Kyle |

Re: 4.10's or 3.73's WRONG..... 4.10 with an A4 is awesome with the right tire (27-28") or a high reving motor (anything over stock). i think at 6800 rpm on a 27" tire you are limited to 128 mph or so - so basicly 10 sec car...... if it were me and not a daily driver (hell as long as you dont do much highway driving), i would do it! never fear the gear! |
Re: 4.10's or 3.73's go 4.10 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[devil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" /> |
Re: 4.10's or 3.73's I recommend a maximum of 3.73 with an A4. Otherwise, you may hit 4th in the quarter, which is not good. A 4.10 would be a great 1/8 mi. gear. |
