Default Need personal experiences with Moser 12bolt

Got my 12 bolt in and I am hearing some people talk bad about them I got TruTrac locker with 33 spline axles.. I am hearing people say they start making lots of noise after 5000 rpm launches on sticky tires but I am also hearing people say they run 9's on theirs.. I will never make over 1000rwhp in the future I plan on procharging to make 800-900 rwhp though is there anybody out there that makes these numbers on a 12 bolt and no problems?

There are 12 bolts living with that horsepower but they have spools.
With that horsepower goal I would have went with a 9 inch. I originally was looking at an S60 but got a good deal on my Strange 12 bolt with 4.10s and a spool. Since I plan on no more than 650 with the nitrous I gambled on the 12 bolt.
I am betting your posi unit will lose the war against 1000 hp. Especially if your going to try to hook it up.

12 bolt Moser with spool, 1076 RWHP. No problems so far, 25 Dyno passes, a few street miles and 5 trips to the track.
Moser actually did a very good job on gear set up. I really though I would have to re-set gears but didn't have to, whew .

Past 600 rwhp I wouldn't use a Truetrac, I'd go with a spool in a Moser 12 bolt, which is what I am going to do in my own Z28. Bob

Bob could probably elaborate on it more, but I believe the spool and solid spacer are what enables the 12 bolt to live at higher power levels. No slipage or small parts to break with a spool, and no crush sleeve flex with the solid spacer.

Default 12 bolt moser

Again... Your trying to get the best of all the worlds. 1000hp and torque is alot to ask from any street going rear. At some point you have to be realistic about what is streetable.

posi (Eaton, Auburn Pro, True Trac, Detroit Locker)will have its limits in any well build 12 bolt ford 9" and or dana 60. That is why we use spools. 1000hp car is not a real street car. If you were to run the 1000hp on the street you will never hook up and the rear will live. start putting slicks, trans brakes, high stalls, etc. expect to replace parts often. Just a part of racing big horses. Have fun with it. Jim

Just wanted opinions on the Moser 12 bolt because I have heard some bad things and they are like 3 G's and I am worried. My car makes 490 rwhp on bottle right now and I think when I said 1000 hp that is lil overexagerated on my goal.. I think I would be happy with 750 with a procharger for long time . I wanna keep my AC and drive around on the street with lil maintenance to do. I wanna keep it street it has really low miles for a 96 LT4.

If it is an automatic, I'd say you don't have anything to worry about. Bob

I have a 12 bolt, make 506 rwhp, drive it every day (well except in the rain). I touture it at the track. Mine whines, pretty loud actually. I have seen cars run 9's on a 12 bolt excatly like mine. No problems with it at all. I have posi in mine though. I change my gear oil, and put posi lube addative in it every other oil change. I love mine, all except the whining though

I have a Moser12 in my car..and I love it. I also bought it in pieces as I could afford and then built it myself. Needless to say it does not whine even after ET streets and abusing it with the M6 at the track.
