Default getting new 4.10's.... Richmond or Motive??

already have 4.10's in my car but i f'ed them up from a stupid mistake... don't know what brand they were... i'm getting a new set, so what brand do i go with and what is a good price? think i saw them for about $180 a set at Summitt
i'm trying to decide between Richmond and Motive... don't know much about either really...

I have motive Performance 3.90's in my 10 bolt very happy with them. I just bought my 9" yesturday and opted for the Motive 4.30's should be here next week.

yea i have heard the richmond are pretty noisy... not really heard much on the Motive tho
so you have 3.90?? i didn't know u could get 3.90's for the 10 bolt?! maybe i should go with those instead of the 4.10's....
can someone tell me if this install kit will be good to use if i were to get the Motive's..and if it will be all i need to get...

I have had great luck with Motive gears, Ive broken 4 sets of Richmond gears, but Im pretty had on my gears. But I wouldnt install gears unless your going to install the auburn or any other after market posi. Heres some good deals on so sets of gears, http://stores.ebay.com/Kennedy-Off-Road

Motive makes a quieter gear on average, Richmond makes a stronger gear. Richmond is definitely a higher quality product - and you'll pay a little more for them - but they do make some noise. My car's at the shop as we speak getting the gears reshimmed and tightened.

False on the richmonds being stronger, they are more brittle. Get US Motive 4.10's not the Italian 4.11's, trust me.

i had the good motives and the richmonds you just have to go with one or the other till you get a set that will hold i guess but i will never by motive again just by my past with them and i to would not just change gears i gotta auburn pro street in one car and detroit trutrac in the other

Im putting in motive 373s, we'll see how long these last. The gear noise all depends on setting them up right, i dont think we need to go here again.

well i'm not really worried about noise.. right now it's my daily driver but soon to be a weekend car only.. and it's not going to see any track time, just a street race here and there... and i prob wont do anymore mods... so i'm going with 4.10's and i think i'm gonna go with the motive's.... question tho, what installation kit do i need to get if i get the Motive's off of Summitt... here they are: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

is that the ones i need? and what installation kit should i get with it?? thanks!

I have been running Motive 4.10s in my 10 bolt for a while. I blew the posi, but the gears have held.
