Depends on what broke---or if you want to replace the whole thing. $1100 last time mine was fixed.

Would you guys mind pointing me to a good rear to buy for a decent price, im not really looking to spend more than 1800-2000 on parts, my local shop quoted me 2300 for a used rear with a 1 yr warranty, and then 340 for labor. Thanks alot for the help!

Rule of thumb with the stock piece of **** 10 bolt is to "Upgrade not to fix". Spend the $2300 on a new 12 bolt for an auto or 9" for a 6 speed.

I paid $2550 for an an aggressive 9" set up shipped to my door. You can find them for around $2200-2300 for a brand new 9" that is 10X better than the stock 10 bolt.

^agreed! Get a 12 bolt if you have an Automatic, or get a 9" for 6 speed.

from what it sounds like, you havent done a lot of research on mods to the car, or searched for parts.

you can pick up a stock rear in good condition for around 300 bucks off of this site, and have it installed for probably 200 bucks at any shop. this is the cheap way out, however, if you drive the car hard then i would definitely opt to go with a 12 bolt/9" from either strange or moser, they are both solid units, with the 9" being the super heavy duty rear. they will cost anywhere from 1800-2500 just depending on what you get, plus installation.

PM me if you want a rear. I have a 3.42 posi 4 channel (trac control rear) with 31k on it. i can freight it to ya. would be alot cheaper than buying a upgraded one or rebuilding yours. $350+freight and you can have it. ready to bolt in

If your willing to spend $2k on parts mise well go ahead and buy a 9inch and call it a day. Bob at exotic performance>>>>>>>>>>> will get you a decent price. And if you need help putting it in just send me a pm and i'll see what I can do for you.

See I'd get a 12 bolt or what not for when my rear goes but I am a handling freak not a straight line guy, and only have stock (bolt on) power. This is where getting a heavier rear end that can totally mess up the handling characteristics makes it a hard decision... aka what is your use for the car?
