Gears gears gears...
So I'm confused. I don't know what gears I have in my Z right now. According to the sticky, I have stock gearing because at 2000 rpm I'm at 67 mph. But when I got to the track right at the end of the 1/4 I have to shift into 5th or I'll hit the rev limiter. I was told that with stock gearing you should be hitting 4th towards the end of the 1/4. Anybody have an idea what the deal is? Maybe my speedometer is off?

Don't know too much about the prior ownership. The guy that owned it before me didn't say anything about gears not being stock. Only mods are a lid and loudmouth exhaust. I've only owned it for about a month or so now. Took it to the track twice, best time was a 13.39 at 106.85 with a 2.121 60'...

Ok so i just punched some numbers into the site and it says I'm running 4.56's! Now, I've never had an F-body before this one, but wouldn't I have noticed this by now? Also wouldn't I be running a quicker 1/4 than a 13.3?

Last time I went to the strip, I was running a 103-105 mph trap. I was just shifting into 4th at the finish line. One time I even tried staying in third and was bouncing off the limiter at the line. So I'm guessing you probably have gears.
Easy way to check is too jack the rear tires off the ground mark your driveshaft and count how many times your driveshaft turns for a revolution of the wheel.
