Default A4 TA 3.73 or 4.10

I have an 98 TA A4 with a full exhaust, 228 cam, and a 3400 stall. Should I get the 3.73s or the 4.10?

I would go with 3.73's unless you're gonna run 28" tires.

4.10's are great behind the LS1 .

How fast do you figure you'll be blowing through the trap at?? That's the important part to decide on which gears to run. Also, since you upgraded your cam, I'm assuming you also did springs and pushrods as well? As long as you can scream that baby over 6000 RPM, you're good for some good top speed . 4.10's would probably be the ticket.

FWIW, when I had the 4.10's behind my A4, I still wanted a stall converter to help get the car off the line ... if that tells you anything?

If it is mostly a street car, Id go with the 3.73's. I personally run 4.10's in my weekend h/c car and dont mind them at all- even on the freeway.

Yes, 4.10's work beautifully with the stock cam . You have lots of room in 3rd gear before crossing the 1/4 mile line .
